2012 Cosa Obra Sauvignon Blanc

COSA OBRA

2012 Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma County

Vintage:
The long cool growing season of 2012 allowed great acid retention in the fruit and extended time for flavor development without the higher sugar levels associated with warmer growing conditions. The warm weather in October was timed perfectly to bring the fruit to the needed ripeness levels.

Vineyard:
Two unique vineyard sites in Bennett and Dry Creek Valley. Together they showcase a tropical twist with a little added cool crispness that speaks "Sonoma County"

Winemaking:
Grapes were picked in the early morning hours, and went immediately to press and chilled to preserve freshness.  The grape juice was immediately inoculated with yeast and nutrients to finish the primary fermentation in tank and hand selected neutral French Oak barrels at carefully controlled temperatures.

Tasting Notes:
This enticing Sauvignon Blanc offers aromas of white peach, cantaloupe, and orange blossom complemented by bright citrus notes of lemon curd and zest.  Tropical flavors of pineapple, lemon, mango and papaya introduce a rich palate and a clean pink grapefruit finish. A great aperitif, this pairs nicely with just about any seafood dish, and is a great companion with hard cheeses.

About The Winery...

The name Cosa Obra is comprised of two words, Cosa meaning "thing" and Obra "a hand-crafted body of work".  This is our thing, this is what we do, this is our hand-crafted body of work.

Consulting Winemaker Kent Humphrey creates wines of seduction, power and grace.  The winemaking goal is simple; make a small amount of exceptional wine from carefully selected artisan vineyards from unique terroir, and offer them to those whom enjoy exceptoinal wines.

Cosa Obra currently produces four wines, a Proprietary Red Blend and two Sauvignon Blanc wines and Pinot Noir crafted from grapes purchased from small growers in the Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Bennett Valley.  Their wines are released when they reach a level of enjoyment to share and enjoy with friends & family.
