94 Points - 2026 Sommeliers Choice Awards
2022 Petaluma Gap Chardonnay is celebrated for its unique cool-climate balance of vibrant, crisp citrus acidity and a rich, creamy mouthfeel. Strong maritime winds and heavy morning fog from the Pacific create a long growing season, allowing the grapes to develop intense flavor, deep fruit complexity, and ideal natural freshness.

Delicious for any occasion, or perfect for aging. Enjoy with herb-crusted pork ribs, grilled chicken Caesar salad, poached salmon and more.
Terroir & Vintage Details
The 2022 growing season was yet another in a string of drought years. Though yearly rainfall was only slightly lower than average, the bulk of that rain came in October and December of 2021, while the spring of 2022 was uncharacteristically dry and gave way to a seasonably dry summer. This was followed by an intense heat wave during the first week of September, with temperatures soaring as high as 118 degrees Fahrenheit, causing a dramatic increase in grape’s sugar levels. Patient with harvest allowed cooler temperatures and normal sugar levels to return before picking.
Petaluma Gap AVA, Sonoma County
Defined by its unique wind and fog conditions and their effect on the vines, the Petaluma Gap was designated on December 7, 2017, as an American Viticultural Area (AVA), producing premium grapes that make it one of California's best areas for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Just 25 miles north of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, it's also the premier gateway to the Sonoma Coast and northern Marin County wine region.

A beautiful garnet color in the glass. Aromas of pomegranate, vibrant cranberry, candied strawberry, gravel, and rose perfume lead to a palate of cinnamon, clove, tea leaf, bing cherry, a touch of earth, and an opulent, fleshy texture.
