Violet black in color with aromas of rich fruity dark berries, honeycomb, vanilla, and hints of forest floor join together with bold flavors of black cherry and spiced nut.  Aged new French oak barrels for 30 months added complexity yet a balanced oak profile, layered palette, leaving you with its enjoyable persistent finish.  A light decanting for a couple hours will allow the wine fully open up... or cellar for 10+ years for greater complexity.

Napa Valley, Coombsville District
Coombsville District is one of the premier sub-regions within the Napa Valley, with its proximity to the Bay leading to a cooler growing season and more elegant wines.  While Cabernet does well in the warmer regions to the north in Napa, the Coombsville District presents a more elegant, refined Cabernet, with stunning depth.

Vintage
It is a little cooler in the southern end of Napa Valley, and we benefit from this by being able to ripen the grapes slowly and evenly. The 2018 vintage has produced wines that are opulent and velvety, with great layers and depth.

Winemaking
These grapes were hand-picked in the middle of the night, when the temperature is ideal, then destemmed and hand sorted. Fermentation lasted 12 days, with 2 pumpovers per day, then macerated on the skins for 16 days. The wine was aged for 30 months in oak barrels, 1/3 new French oak and 2/3 neutral barrels.
