Exceptional Sangiovese: 60% OFF (While it lasts!)

Meet Random Ridge, a true insiders', old-school, locals-only winery.

Crafted by independent winemaker Bill Hawley—who has farmed his Mayacamas mountain property since 1978—utilizing low yields of just over a ton per acre, organic farming, and minimal filtration at bottling.

His enticing Sangiovese opens with aromas of ripe black cherry, cherry bark, cedar, dried orange peel, a touch of black pepper.  In the glass, the palate equally rich with flavors expanding into notes of fresh picked cherry, chocolate, and crushed stone and a touch of white pepper.  Together, these lavish flavors, coupled with an elegant mouthfeel and a long engaging finish, makes a fantastic wine.  A $65 Sangiovese dropping down to $25.99 does not happen every day.  Grab your bottles before they disappear.

Why This Bottle Overdelivers:

  • Exceptional Value: A stunning $65 SRP wine offered at an unbeatable steal of just $25.99 a bottle, paired with aggressive shipping incentives (Free shipping on 12+ bottles and 50% off shipping on any quantity).

Food Pairings
Wood fired pizza, artisan cheeses, fresh pasta, risotto with wild mushrooms, lamb meatballs, grilled meats, and fine Mediterranean cuisine.

Winemaking
While Moon Mountain is typically known for muscular Cabernet and Syrah, back in the 90s Lorenzo Petroni brought the Sangiovese Grosso clone from Tuscany and planted it on his Sonoma hillside estate. This wine comes straight from that historic Petroni Vineyard—farmed Biodynamic, Organic & Sustainable, open top fermentation hand punch down, with minimal filtration at bottling and aged 20 months in 100% neutral French oak.

Moon Mountain District, Sonoma County
Situated on the western slopes and ridge tops of the Mayacamas Mountains, east of the city of Sonoma and bordering Napa County's Mt. Veeder AVA and covers 17,663 total acres, with approximately 1,500 to 2,000 planted vineyard acres. Most rangeland and vineyards sit at high altitudes ranging from 400 to 2,200 feet above sea level. Commercial viticulture dates back to the 1880s, featuring historic sites like the Monte Rosso Vineyard (first planted in 1882). The soils are thin, rocky, well-drained volcanic soils rich in iron, basalt, ash, and rhyolitic tuff. Vines tend to experience warm afternoon sunlight balanced by cooling ocean and bay crosswinds.
