90 Points - BTI 2014 Gold Medal Winner
The 2012 vintage came as a welcome respite for growers in the Napa Valley. The resulting wines, especially Cabernets are just hitting the market now, so we are really excited to have snagged more of the latest release from one of our favorite vintners in Napa, Maroon. This family-owned and operated winery consistently turns out lovely wines.
The 2012 Maroon Signature Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, is dark ruby in color, with a hint of purple. The nose shows Cabernet's typical dark fruit along with vanilla and baking spice. Medium bodied but with rich fruit, flavors of berry and black cherry coat the palate, with notes of tobacco and dried herb. This is drinking well now, and should continue to evolve in the cellar for the next 3-5 years.

Legendary Sangiacomo Robert's Road Vineyard
Shimmering ruby-purple hue. The nose is a walk through a damp Sonoma forest—mossy bark and wild earth—brightened by high-toned notes of cranberry sauce and blood orange. On the palate, it's generously long in the mouth, with good concentration. It's a masterclass in tension: intense, cherry and red current fruit meets dark spice and fine, sandy tannins.
