Dark fruit with blueberry fruit aromas and notes of mocha and cassis.  The texture is silky, rich and mouth-filling with berry pie, black tea, exotic spice and notes of chocolate fudge on the palate.  Fine grain tannins lengthen the finish with dark fruit flavors mingling with just a hint of mint.

Simply delicious!  Pairs with anything from the meat aisle, from barbecue pork ribs, leg of lamb or big, hearty meals.

Winemaking
Tiny berries in 2022 resulted in a robust and concentrated Home Ranch Cuvée. The original Home Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon formed the foundation again this vintage, with two small neighboring vineyards blended in. Additionally, in 2022 they added a few barrels from the renowned Monte Rosso Vineyard and Desnudo Vineyard. These components added body and acidity. The result is a balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with depth, complexity and longevity.

Vineyard
The Home Ranch Cuvée is built on a core of clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Home Ranch Vineyard in southwest Sonoma Valley, planted by Sojourn founder Craig Haserot in 2002. Tight spacing and immaculate vine training result in evenly ripened grapes with tiny berries and loose clusters. Robust blueberry fruit aromas and big silky tannins distinguish Home Ranch Vineyard wine from most of its Sonoma Valley brethren.

Vintage
A warm 2022 summer brought one of the earliest harvests on record in Sonoma, with a September heat wave influencing some picking decisions. Cabernet Sauvignon fared well through the heat, and was able to get ample hang time without high sugar levels. Sojourn’s 2022 vintage wines offer balance, depth and finesse. Yields were miniscule, with many vineyards breaking records on the low side for cluster weights.

Lofty aromas of ripe red fruits layered with notes of crushed violets, berry cobbler, cherry and creme brulee leading into crushed blackberry with cassis, mocha, leather, mineral, and baking spice.  Its all encompassing and bold mouthfeel are outstanding, as deep tannins dance around the palate, finishing with flavors of blackberry, fig, and pipe tobacco.

Deep garnet core with aromas of crème de cassis, blackberry, dark chocolate and licorice mingle and swirl on the nose. The palate is equally gorgeous with extremely rich cookie, walnut, plum and cassis with a long smooth creamy vanilla finish. This one is aged to perfection and ready to show off.
