WINEMAKING
Three generations of the Leonardini Family (Tre Leoni) are responsible for this expertly made proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec. Whitehall Lane and the Leonardini’s are known for making elegant, sophisticated Cabernets. Tre Leoni, while a serious blend, is a little fun and distinctly delicious. Each grape varietal was fermented and aged as separate lots in French and American oak barrels. Winemaker Jason Moulton tasted through each lot and put the final blend together after aging for 20 months. The lion's share of the wine is Cabernet Sauvignon with equal, lesser percentages of Merlot, and Malbec. This wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
VINTAGE
The 2020 vintage was a long and warm growing season, seasoned by a drought, which can often lead to a fantastic vintage. Bud break began in late March, leading to a Spring that had few showers and was relatively dry. Summer was steady, with heat spikes that pushed the vintage closer and closer. As we headed into Autumn, harvest was upon us quickly and we moved swiftly to bring in grapes to process and finish the season.

Its all encompassing and bold mouthfeel are outstanding, as deep tannins dance around the palate, finishing with flavors of blackberry, fig, and pipe tobacco.

Flavors are just as complex with hints of soft melted butter, quince, fig, and a touch of lavender that titillate your taste buds. Dark ruby red in the glass, and good swirl on the nose offers generous aromatics of cassis, black cherry and spice. Generously oaked, with crushed blackberry, baked plums, baking spices, and Turkish fig. A supple body, gives way to red and dark fruit like plum, blueberry compote, prune, with anise and light spice on the finish.
