Now that Stiling Vineyard Chardonnay (the source for this bottling) is completely dry farmed by the Dehlinger family, we continue to see an amping up of concentration and flavor from the raw material provided for Luke’s, already their most popular Chardonnay. Always a standout, the 2020 Luke’s shows even a bit more of its typically buoyant, creamy and luscious character.
In 2020 the Sonoma Coast the grape vines woke up early and demanded their normal attention anyway. Aromas of raspberry croissant, red currants, cocoa powder and layers of graphite. The palate showcases fine, firm tannins alongside chocolate cherry lollipop, red plums, dried goji berries and toasted brioche. Supple in texture and shows attractive depth on the finish. Enjoy now and through 2035 with proper cellaring.
Layers of strawberry, baked cherry pie, anise, cherry lollipop, wild game, and spicebox. On the palate, black cherry jam couples with crème de cassis, mixed berry crisp, rhubarb, and a touch of vanilla.
