93 Points - Chris Sawyer "Sommelier to the Stars"

Full-bodied with a deep red hue and hints of violet.  This wine teases the senses with seductive aromas of dark fruits, wild berries, cocoa, baking spices, leather, and cigar box. As the wine opens up, the palate is filled with saturated flavors of ripe blackberry, blueberry, cassis, cherry cola, ripe plum, fresh sage, licorice, clove, and roasted black walnut.  To match power with grace, these deep flavors are balanced with a rich texture, vibrant acidity, smooth tannins, and a lingering finish.

This deep, rich and powerful proprietary blend is made with world-class grapes grown at rugged rocky sites located in the high-elevation appellations of Howell Mountain (70%) and Mt. Veeder (30%) towering above Napa Valley. Distinct, complex, and a true Napa Valley gem with only 216 cases produced.

Food Pairings:  Rich, round and opulent with dynamic mountain character. This is a great wine to pair with a selection of artisan style salami, hard cheeses, eggplant parmesan, wild mushroom raviolis, juicy steaks, gamey meats, slow-roasted stews, or rack of lamb.

Varietals:  Cabernet Franc (52%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (38%) play the lead roles, with the smaller portions of Malbec, Petite Verdot and Merlot
Appellation:  Napa Valley, Howell Mountain (70%) and Mt. Veeder (30%)
Alcohol: 14% by volume
Aging:  22 months on American oak

Hatton Daniels
2019 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Sangiacomo Vineyard, Robert's Road

Legendary Sangiacomo Robert's Road Vineyard
Shimmering ruby-purple hue.  The nose is a walk through a damp Sonoma forest—mossy bark and wild earth—brightened by high-toned notes of cranberry sauce and blood orange.  On the palate, it's generously long in the mouth, with good concentration. It's a masterclass in tension: intense, cherry and red current fruit meets dark spice and fine, sandy tannins.
