Vineyards
Made from primarily 50+ year old vines in Dry Creek in the east bench of the appellation with smaller amounts from Rockpile and Alexander Valley. Sonoma County is flanked on each side by mountains, with vineyards laid out as far as the eye can see on the valley floor. Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley are further north, but also further inland than the Russian River Valley, which results in less marine influence, and therefore warmer weather. Not as hot as Napa. The result is a climate that is perfect for Zinfandel in a riper style than the Russian River, but less ripe than Napa.
Zinfandel
First planted in Sonoma County around 1850, Zinfandel has enjoyed a rich tradition as America’s heritage grape. Known for its fruit forward nature and smooth tannins, our Sonoma County Zinfandel comes from select high quality vineyards which provide the characteristics that made the Zinfandel varietal the foundation of the California wine industry. Great with rich pasta, chicken, pork or beef and anything barbecued.
