2016 Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast
The 2016 Flower Child Chardonnay is rich and full with aromas of tropical fruit, pear, apricot, and lemon meringue surrounded by a bouquet of toasty oak, vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut. Luscious mouthfeel and bright flavors of honey, pear, apple, and citrus followed by a clean, mineral finish.
Located in Sonoma County, with the majority in the nearby Petaluma Gap and the Sonoma Coast region. This area is well known for growing ultra-premium Chardonnay. Select wineries source fruit from this prime growing area and make exceptional wines.
Grapes were picked in the cool early morning hours, and immediately to press the delicate fruit and chilled to preserve freshness. 100% barrel fermented for 9 months in French oak barrels, of which 25% was new to add complexity & richness. Extended malolactic fermentation fine-tuned the body and perfected the mouth feel.
