COSA OBRA 2013 Proprietor's Blend Red Sonoma County
Tasting Notes The 2013 Proprietor's Blend is inky dark in color, fruit forward, with loads of blackberry, vanilla and spice, reminiscent of Northern Rhône. Impressively rich, yet balanced and structured. The style of wine we really enjoy drinking this time of year. Perfect with big red foods like seared meats and rich pasta dishes. This wine will age gracefully well through 2022.
Winemaking Grapes were picked in the darkness of the early morning hours, and immediately subjected to rigorous hand sorting and refinement process. The whole berries were gently delivered to tank. Cold soaks lasted five to seven days, and fermentations were managed via a combination of delestage and pumpovers. Extended maceration ranging from three to four weeks fine-tuned our tannin profiles, allowing us to perfect mouth feel and wine complexity. The wine was aged 26 months in 100% French oak, 25% of which was new.

About The Winery...
The name Cosa Obra is comprised of two words, COSA meaning "our thing" and OBRA "a hand-crafted body of work". This is our thing, our hand-crafted body of work.
Owner Gregory Hayes, and Consulting Winemaker Kent Humphrey came together to form a team with over two decades of experience in the wine industry and a passion for unique and outstanding wines. Their winemaking goal was simple; make a small amount of the best possible wine from carefully selected artisan vineyards around Sonoma County. Through these efforts Cosa Obra currently produces wines, sourced from small growers in the Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Bennett Valley.
