94 Points - Decanter

A classic expression of coastal influenced Chardonnay with aromas of honey, apple chutney, lime blossom, and gentle Indian spice box undertones.  A big juicy entry on the palate, showing a silky texture with excellent tension and structure, ending with a complex, layered finish.  Great Chardonnay!  One of the finest we've tasted.  You'll want to drink some now, and hold more for your cellar.

Delicious for any occasion, or perfect for aging.  Enjoy with herb-crusted pork ribs, grilled chicken Caesar salad, poached salmon and more.

Ferrington Vineyard
First planted in 1969 and owned by Kurt Schoeneman since 1996, the 70 acre Ferrington Vineyard is well established as the benchmark in the Anderson Valley. Located just outside the town of Boonville, the vineyard soils are made up of decomposed sandstone, clay and rock and planted to mostly Chardonnay and Pinot noir.

Anderson Valley
Anderson Valley Chardonnay is generally considered great, with many specific examples receiving high praise for being balanced, crisp, and fruit-forward. Key characteristics include racy acidity, a full body, and a complex profile with notes of citrus, pear, melon, and sometimes hints of oak and vanilla. Critics have called it "utterly classical in proportion" and a "beautifully textured" wine that showcases the potential of cool-climate Chardonnay.

Vintage
The 2023 growing season is characterized by exceptional quality promoted by an extended maturity due to below average temperatures during the summer months. Light late seasons rains increased the freshness and brightness of the wines produced this vintage.
