A blend of (53%) Napa and (47%) Sonoma Zinfandel. The Napa Zin is from a head-trained sustainably farmed vineyard planted over 75 years ago! Some old vine Petite Sirah, Carignane, and a touch of Mourvedre build up this juicy red fruit with spice and complexity. The Sonoma Zin is Dry Creek, and exhibits a lush raspberry fruit entwined with savory plum, cedar, and exotic spice. Together both Napa and Sonoma merge into a densely structured, deep purple blend of rich ripe fruit character with a long, soft supple finish.
The 2013 Michael-Scott Zinfandel offers a dark red hue, opening up with lively notes of fresh baked fruit cobbler, wild berries, mint, cedar and allspice. On the palate, the flavors of plum, raspberry and boysenberry enhanced with hints of black pepper, bittersweet chocolate, and toffee. With natural richness, bright acidity, smooth tannins and plenty of structure, the finish is long, vivacious and rewarding. Perfect for Summer time grilling.
This wine happiest when paired with anything from the meat aisle, from barbeque pork ribs, leg of lamb, or a big juicy steak.
